White Christmas

Playing out in the snow

With all the cousins, minus Justin (he was too busy making a snowman)

Logan's snow angel

Logan & Mommy in the snow

Caught in midform with a snowball

Wonderful memories were made Christmas eve this year. In Texas you rarely see snow, especially on Christmas eve. Well this year the holiday were made a extra special with the large white snowflakes that began to fall around noon. Logan was so excited to finally be able to make a snow angel. He also quickly caught onto making snowballs and throwing them at Mommy & Daddy. What a wonderful memory for us all!

Christmas 09

This year we had another wonderful Christmas. It was nice sitting around and reflecting with family. You will see pictures from almost all of the family Christmas' we attend. Yes, we are the 4 Christmas family. We look forward to next year's Christmas where we will be a complete family.

Santa

We made a quick visit to Santa one morning. Logan was very excited to see him and sit in his lap. As you can see this year he was not at all afraid to sit with Santa and let him know that he wanted "Optimus Prime and a Buzz Lightyear!"

It's a ......

We're tickled pink and happy to say
that a baby GIRL is on the way!

Yes, you read that right. Logan is going to have a baby sister! The ultrasound revealed the great news along with easing our minds regarding growth and development. Everything looked great. All 3 of us are so happy!

Logan's new look

Today we jumped over another hurdle. As you can see Logan is now wearing glasses. Several weeks ago during his 4 year well check the doctor performed a vision exam. Well...he failed it pretty bad. We visited the eye doctor where they determined he is nearsighted and has astigmatisms in both eyes. All three of us are adjusting to the new look, but doesn't he look so darn cute???

Happy 4th Birthday!

Wow...it's very hard to believe that Logan is 4 years old. He is all excited about being 4 and then on "November tent" turning 5 then going to Kindergarten. Logan doesn't quite understand he will have to wait many, many months for that to happen. Overall, he had a great day. We are very blessed to have such a sweet and wonderful little boy. Thank you God for choosing us to be his parents!

Trick or Treating

Logan had a blast trick or treating this year. As you can tell he dressed up as Bumblebee the Transformer. Most of the time he did not wear his mask. The funniest part of the night was when he knocked on a door and said, "Trick or treat, I am allergic to eggs, peanuts and other nuts." Those poor people, they had nothing to say. Of course what did he grab out of the bucket, a Snickers. They felt bad so handed me some plain M&M's. I can't imagine what those people were thinking. Logan had a blast and ended the night with passing out Candy at his friend's K's house. Thanks McKenzie's for letting us come over again this year!

Logan has important things to say

Logan is overjoyed to finally be able to announce that he is going to be a big brother!!! The due date is April 29th. I have been going to the doctor every 2 weeks for the last month and a half due to some problems, but there has been a good strong heartbeat (up in the high 160's) each time. We look forward to finding out whether baby Shepherd is a boy or a girl in about 2 months.

Brag time

Well, I just have to brag on Logan. He is very much into writing his name and coloring these days. He decided that he did not just want to write his name on the inside of Grammy's birthday card, he wanted to write her name on the front of the envelope. After showing him how to write a few of the letters he wrote her name. Below you will see how well. I am so proud of this accomplishment. Not only as a parent, but as a teacher this brings a tear to my eye. He has become very interested in learning and we love it. Sorry to brag, but I just am so proud!

Dallas World Aquarium

Since the summer is winding down we decided to head to the Dallas World Aqurium. We had some friends also go and their little girl. K and Logan get along so well and always have a blast together. The only bad part was Tony's sunglasses fell into the tank with the mantatees. I guess there is one cool mantatee swimming around now. It was a blast and Logan enjoyed seeing the aquatic (and some non-aquatic) animals.

Texas Ranger's Game

We went to a Ranger's baseball game with a large group of friends. What a way to go; special parking, special gate entrance, box office with lots of yummy food and drinks sitting out, and a win for the Rangers! That is the way to go see a game. Hopefully next time we go the red carpet is pulled out for us again! :) Thanks to Sean's dad, Sean & Kendra. Logan had a blast and loved watching them play. He can't wait to play again himself.

First Trip to the Race Track

The day finally came that Logan was able to go and watch Tony race. He was in heaven all day Saturday. From the moment the car was loaded until we arrived, he just couldn't stop laughing and smiling. We headed up to Dallas Raceway. After waiting around 3 hours for the track temp to go down the races finally began. You will see that Logan was amazed and Daddy's helper after runs. I'm afraid that a monster was created. He idolizes Tony and wants to be just like him. I also have feeling that from now on when Tony goes racing, Logan will be begging to go also.

Lake Time

Last weekend we purchased a new boat. Logan has been so thrilled about taking it out on the water. We tried on Thursday night, but as we were going down our road Logan started vomitting. Instead of heading to the lake, we visited the ER. What a great trade off, huh? That's a different story in itself. This past Sunday we finally were able to take our first trip to the lake. Logan had a blast. He threw a huge fit when we loaded the boat on the trailer. This kid LOVES the lake and tubing. There is nothing like cruising around on the lake. That was the much needed therapy we needed as a family to heal. What a great time we had!

4th of July 09

This year we celebrated the 4th of July with some great friends, food, drinks, fireworks and of course water for the kids. We all had a great time. Logan LOVED the fireworks and kept asking for more!

Swimming Lessons

Logan just finished with his first swimming lessons. Prior to swimming lessons Logan would scream when water went in his ears or water was on his face, now he is getting more use to the feel each day. He learned some basic skills. Now it is time to learn how to swim.

New Bed

Well, we finally bought Logan a new bed. He now has a big, big boy bed. The little man is so excited about his new bed. It is hard to believe that he is 3 1/2 years old and ready for a bed this size. Where does the time go?

Helping Daddy take down the toddler bed

All put together

Ready for our first nap in our big, big boy bed (while begging for Tanner to join him)

Cast

Yes, the day has finally arrived. We now have a broken bone in our record. Back on May 7th Logan hurt his foot and ankle on the tramopoline. After an Urgent Care visit we headed to the Orthopedist. Logan had a mid-ankle sprain and fracture in his foot. Here we are 3 weeks after getting the cast on and finally that smelly thing is off. Of course there is more problems, but what is ever easy when it comes to Logan? Nothing.... The next couple of months will be a waiting game, like always, but we are going to enjoy our summer and baths again!!
